The Southern Conference Enters Multi-Year Partnership with TapNPay+

TapNPay+ Named the Official Fan Payment Platform of the SoCon

SPARTANBURG, SC – The Southern Conference (SoCon) named TapNPay+ its Official Fan Payment Platform in a multi-year Founding Conference partnership Friday morning.

TapNPay+ is a fan membership rewards payment platform. Fans pay with TapNPay+ at 300+ national brands, earn instant cash back, and every purchase fuels the program they choose.

As part of the partnership, TapNPay+ becomes presenting sponsor of the 2027 SoCon women's basketball, softball, women’s soccer and volleyball championships and an official partner of the men's and women's basketball championship in Asheville, NC.

TapNPay+ will also work directly with SoCon member schools to launch school-branded fan programs. Fans pay with the card already in their wallet and earn an average of 4% instant TapNPay+ cash back. Schools earn new recurring revenue with no upfront cost.

Schools also gain Lens Intelligence, aggregated insight into how their fans spend. It helps athletic departments find new corporate partners and show the value of sponsorship to the partners they already have.

“Our fans already support these programs every day. TapNPay+ gives them a way to do it every time they buy groceries or grab a coffee,” said SoCon Interim Commissioner Geoff Cabe. “That creates additional revenue for our member institutions without asking fans to spend a dollar more than they already do.”

TapNPay+ presented the program to SoCon athletic directors and senior woman administrators on September 30 in Chattanooga. On-campus planning meetings with member schools begin this fall.

“Fans spend money every single day, and almost none of it reaches the program they love,” said TapNPay+ Founder and CEO Michael Thomas. “TapNPay+ changes that. The Southern Conference saw it right away, and we’re proud to build this with them.”
